As part of the dissemination on the Erasmus + project “Increasing Quality of Activities Targeting Rural Youth”, our organization created and coordinated 8 capacity building activities.
The seventh capacity building activity took part on the 12th of September, 2019 in a youth center in a small town of North Macedonia – Valandovo and 26 young people attended.
The participants had a warm welcome, and the Staff presented themselves and their role in the organization. Then they held a short presentation about our organization, and our main aims and goals. Also the aim of this event was explained.
In order to get to know each other, the participants played few name games and energizers, such as “Ball and Name” and “Speed Dating”.
The main activity on this event was presenting to the participants the importance of social skills for success in the business department.
The participants had the opportunity to learn basic social skills in business, to increase their confidence and self-esteem. They also learned how to improve their conversation skills, with tips on how to start, continue and end a conversation, and how to approach networking events with strategy, skill and less anxiety.
Later the participants worked in small groups and where given specific topics to evolve in a conversation, based on the skills they learned.
After this, the staff held a presentation of the Erasmus + programme, and it’s many possibilities for the youth, with Q&A session. Then the participants played a Kahoot quiz, just so they can see how much they learned about Erasmus + programme.
The project “Increasing Quality of Activities Targeting Rural Youth” was presented and also future events, projects and possibilities that the participants can take part in.
This event was important for the participants because they had the opportunity to learn something valuable, since it is very important for youth to know how to have a successful job interview, regarding their future jobs and careers etc.
During the event, different tools from non-formal education were used as interesting name games, presentations, discussions, questions and answers session etc.
